BOOK 1: The Zrakon’s Bride by Linda Barlow

Beauty Meets Her Beast

Are maidens still sacrificed to sea dragons? Kate Beaton is a lover of folklore tales about beauties and beasts, maidens and monsters, princesses and frogs. But when she visits a quaint Scottish village, she is surprised to find that they take the ancient legends seriously.

Ross Malloch is a modern Highland laird with a family secret—there have been shape shifters at Mallochbirn for centuries. The Zrakon is in his blood. And on Midsummer's Eve, the only thing his alpha male sea dragon can think about is finding his one true mate.

He was…not.  “Jeez, this feels like a kinky threesome. With tentacles.” *naughty grin*  HOLY MOTHER OF ALL THINGS HOT & MAGICAL!!!!  I love the humor, the magics & mystics, the legends and of course, the hot & sexy romance!  Such a unique story!  So magical & hot, it could have easily have not been but with Linda's magical touch, it becomes a terrifically romantic love story between a gifted human and...one who is so much more!  I thoroughly enjoyed this story and cannot wait to read more!  I didn't know what to expect with or from, this story, and I think that is part of what made it such an awesome book!  I mean who would ever expect that by visiting a small island in Scotland while researching your family tree, you would end up becoming front & center in their Midsummer's Eve tradition of leaving a female staked out as a sexual 'sacrifice' to a Sea Dragon?!?  Especially since no one would have anything to do with you in the first place simply because you are not “a local”!  Trust me, this is waaaay more hot and erotic and fantastic than you could ever imagine!  And no, it is not creepy or bestially at all!  Well, unless you want it to be! *snicker*  My favorite line though - I love this part - He turned into an owl and perched on her hand.  If you know me, you know that I love owls, so to have a hot & sexy shifter who would become an owl for me, well, I think I would do almost anything – and I do mean anything – for that!  *smiles innocently*  But don't take my word for it!  One-click away and find out just how awesome this story truly is!  You just might find yourself wanting to head over to Scotland to see if you can find your OWN Sea Dragon!!  But you will have to wait your turn!  I called shotgun!!  My trip has already been booked!  LOL  What time are we meeting up Linda?

“Hey, they're not skirts!"

5 stars

‘He teased back, amused that even in another world, women wondered what a Scotsman had under his kilt.’  How true!!  Fantastic!!!   I thoroughly enjoyed this book, the second in the series.  I felt that by reading the books in order, you not only get the maximum out of both of the stories, but it also gives you the information & background on the Sea Dragons from Ross & Kate's stories so that you were able to understand and enjoy this story more!  I liked that Linda did not repeat everything, just what you needed to know in order to enjoy Colin & Ariane's story.  It kept this story fresh and awesome!!  I found this story to be a little...darker, maybe?  Or not as light-hearted as The Zrakon's Bride.  There is still a lot of humor in it, but the tone is more deeper and intense.  With Ariane being from another world, how could it not be!?!  I loved how this story had more mystery to it, some different Shifters and answered that one universal and eternal question - just what exactly do they wear under that sexy kilt of theirs!!!  :)  I loved seeing things through the eyes of, well for lack of a better term, an alien!  Pure genus and full of laugh out loud moments!!  Definitely a book, and series, that I recommend to any readers out there who are looking for something fresh, unique and oh so very hot & sexy and want a different kind of Shifter to fall in love with!  Linda has definitely showcased just how talented of an author she is and cannot wait to read more!  I hope that Linda DOES plan to write more in this series because her Sea Dragons are so great & unique with such a creative twist to the “typical” shifter story that they stand out in a highly populated genre & category!!
