OH Michelle! You have outdone yourself with this one!! This story is so sweet, tender, loving, funny, sexy, heartbreaking, and just so perfect!! I so love Alek & Kendall! I just loved how Kendall…or when Alek did….ARGH! I want to say so much more, but anything I could say will spoil the story for you, so I will just say that Michelle has outdone herself with this one! Everything I love in a story, like humor, sexy Lords, amazing sex, a connection with fantastically written characters, a great storyline that sucks you in and that special something, that charm, that...that...Michelle Magic! No one, and I do me NO ONE, could ever compare or compete with it because it is an intangible quality, an essence that only Michelle can bring to her stories! (Maybe Mandy...maybe not! Then it would have to be called "Mandy Magic" LOL) This series is a perfect definition of it. I love how all of the characters are different, they came from different places, the Draig men are all different as well with their own personalities, their titles, duties, living quarters and how they treat their women, in the sense of communication, understandings, etc.. Even with so many books, they are each original, captivating, you get sucked in right from the start and can’t help but sympathize or empathize with each of the couples. I just love the way that the Draig people find or discover their wives or soulmates as they call them! "The stone reacts to what is naturally between us, showing us the will of our hearts before we are even aware of it ourselves,” *dreamy sigh* Now you get a mere glimpse into why I think that this is the best story, the most romantic and tender one. Don’t get me wrong, it has its hot moments, its sad moments just like any other Dragon Lords book, but this is truly the book that I have been waiting for! Now you can read all of the Dragon Lords books on their own, but you would be cheating yourself out of the whole fantastic reading experience. I personally think that reading them all in order is the best way to go. I find it so intriguing that there can be numerous books that for the most part cover the same time frame (for example 7 days), and even though there are shared scenes, each book tells its own story. The stories all intersect with the people popping in & out of each other’s books, but yet at the same time they are all unique, original and oh so very entertaining!! It is cool to see the same scene from multiple viewpoints because sometimes you might get more information or you found out something you were wondering about, everyone sees something different, reacts differently, because they ARE different people and it is a different book. The way that Michelle has written them is like you are seeing each of these parts for the first time. They do not feel repetitive or have a “been there, done that” type of feel to them & I am pretty certain that not too many authors could do this, let alone do it so successfully and as exquisitely perfect (or is that perfectly exquisite?) like Michelle has done with this series! Because of all of this you would expect to find “errors” or minor differences or changes to suit that character/scene - there ARE a lot of stories, people and incidents - but yet there isn't a one! In reading Michelle's notes, she says that wrote them all at the same time, for the most part anyways! Now how Michelle could write so many at the same time is amazing, but to have them all be so entertaining and flow so fluidly and with a remarkable continuity is absolutely & utterly mind-blowing! The more books I read of Michelle’s, specifically in this series & universe, shows why Michelle is a NEW YORK TIMES & USA TODAY BESTSELLING ROMANCE AUTHOR!! I don’t understand how Michelle is NOT at the top of ALL of the best-seller lists ALL THE TIME! She is at the top of my TBR and is one of the very few authors that I have most of her books, and that I read over & over and when I am looking for something to read, she is one of my go-to authors! (and she is even as great of a person as she is an author and I am honored to call her a friend! As much as a fanatic reader can be with her hero/the author that she worships, that is!)
